The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has warned members of the public against fraudulent employment contract letters being circulated by scammers posing as the agency.

KeNHA said the fake documents falsely claim to have been issued by the Authority and urged job seekers to exercise caution.

"The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to alert members of the public that fraudsters are circulating fake employment contract letters falsely claiming to have been issued by the Authority," the notice read.

KeNHA clarified that the documents are fraudulent and were not generated by the Authority.

The agency said that employment and contract award letters are only issued to successful applicants through its official communication channels.

It advised members of the public to verify the authenticity of any employment-related communication directly with the Authority before taking any action.

KeNHA urged the public to disregard any suspicious employment letters, offers or contracts purporting to originate from the agency.

The Authority also cautioned job seekers against making payments in exchange for employment opportunities or recruitment services, noting that genuine recruitment processes do not require applicants to pay any fees.

It encouraged anyone who encounters suspected fraud or attempted scams to report the matter to the relevant law enforcement agencies or directly to KeNHA.

The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and integrity in its recruitment processes and urged the public to remain vigilant against employment-related fraud.

KeNHA is a statutory body established under the Kenya Roads Act of 2007 and inaugurated in September 2008.

It is responsible for the development, rehabilitation, management and maintenance of all National Trunk Roads comprising of Class S, A, and B roads.

It is headquartered in Nairobi and has ten regional offices and three corridor management offices.

KeNHA was certified ISO 9001: 2008 in July 2013 and was recertified to ISO 9001: 2015 in September 2018.

It is also in charge of all weighbridge installations.
