The Inter-University Council for East Africa is advancing efforts to harmonise higher education systems across the region’s eight partner states, enabling the free movement of skilled professionals without additional certification. The agenda dominated discussions at the council’s 17th Annual Conference in Nairobi. Officials say aligning academic standards and qualifications will strengthen regional integration, enhance education quality, and allow graduates to work seamlessly across East Africa without barriers to recognition of their credentials.
