Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has dismissed claims that he is pushing for the splitting of the Mt Kenya region, saying he is instead championing the recognition of communities in Mt Kenya East that have long been marginalized and taken advantage of despite their unique cultural practices. Speaking during an NTV morning interview, Ruku criticised some Central Kenya leaders, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing them of entitlement and arrogance. He said such behavior must come to an end.
