Kenyan musician Stevo Simple Boy has offered words of encouragement to aspiring DJs and musicians, urging them not to lose hope despite the obstacles they may face in the entertainment industry.

The rapper shared the message on his Instagram Stories and page, where he acknowledged that every creative journey comes with setbacks, criticism, and difficult moments.

His remarks come shortly after content creator and influencer Pritty Vishy opened up about her emotional first DJ performance, revealing that she broke down in tears after technical problems and stage nerves affected her debut set.

'Do not lose hope'

In his message, Stevo encouraged upcoming entertainers to remain focused even when faced with rejection or online criticism.

"Leo niko na ushauri kwa upcoming DJs na wasanii. Najua kuna kupanda na kushuka, changamoto mingi, ukejeli, kutusiwa lakini usife moyo," Stevo Simple Boy said.

The musician, who has often spoken publicly about perseverance throughout his own career, reminded young creatives that success rarely comes without challenges.

His remarks echoed a common message within the entertainment industry, where many established artistes have previously shared stories of overcoming rejection before achieving recognition.

A light-hearted appeal to artists and DJs

Stevo also used the opportunity to promote his music in his trademark humorous style, inviting fellow musicians to collaborate with him while encouraging DJs to include his songs in their playlists.

"Kwa wasanii kama mnataka nyota yenyu ing'ae ufanye collabo na mimi, na kwa ma-DJ mkitaka baraka zikuje, mu-mix ngoma zangu na mtapata baraka," he added.

The playful remarks quickly attracted attention online, with many followers interpreting them as Stevo's signature blend of humour and motivation.

The advice comes after Pritty Vishy's emotional DJ debut.

Stevo's post comes days after Pritty Vishy recounted her difficult first experience behind the DJ decks.

The content creator explained that faulty equipment at the venue forced her to perform using only one side of the DJ controller, making it difficult to execute her prepared playlist.

She also admitted that panic and nervousness affected her concentration, leaving her emotional after the performance despite support from her team and fellow DJs.

Pritty later said the experience had taught her valuable lessons about preparation, resilience and handling setbacks as a beginner.
