Gospel musician Christina Shusho has opened up about the personal choices she believes have contributed to her youthful appearance, saying she avoids holding grudges and chooses to wear minimal make-up.

The Tanzanian singer addressed the topic on her Instagram page after receiving repeated questions from followers about why she doesn't appear to age.

While responding, Shusho explained that photographs often do not reflect reality, noting that editing can enhance a person's appearance. However, she insisted that her lifestyle choices play a much bigger role than edited images.

'I do not like keeping things in my heart'

Shusho said the first principle she lives by is choosing not to harbour resentment towards people who have wronged her.

"Hizi picha unazo ziona hapa si kwamba niko hivyo kabisa. Kuna vitu vinaongezwa kwenye picha vinaongeza uzuri kiasi kwenye hizo picha. But secondly, sipendi binafsi kuweka vitu moyoni," Christina Shusho said.

She added that inner peace has become an important part of how she approaches life.

Why she limits the use of make-up

The gospel singer also spoke about her relationship with make-up, saying she appreciates that cosmetics can enhance beauty but believes they should be used in moderation.

According to Shusho, she gradually realised that excessive reliance on make-up can affect how some women see themselves.

"La tatu na la muhimu, kama mwanamke mimi baada ya muda nilijifunza hizi make-up ni nzuri na zinatufanya tuonekane warembo, but zinakuanga na shida pia nyuma kwamba unafika mahali if you are not careful utakuwa hujioni pakutosha pasipo make-up," she explained.

She further claimed that overdependence on cosmetics can make someone feel unable to leave the house without wearing them.
"So inabidi uzitumia, halafu mwisho wa siku zinakuletea ulemavu. Ulemavu wake ni huwezi kutoka nje bila hiyo," she added.

Shusho also shared her personal opinion that people who frequently wear make-up tend to age faster and experience skin changes more quickly.
"Watu ambao wanatumia make-up wanazeeka haraka na sura zao zinaharibika haraka," she said.
Dermatologists generally note that make-up itself does not automatically cause premature ageing when suitable products are used correctly and removed properly.

However, poor skincare habits, failure to remove cosmetics, excessive sun exposure and certain ingredients may contribute to skin irritation or damage over time.
