President William Ruto on Saturday morning hosted a section of Nairobi's community health promoters at State House.

The meeting also brought together Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, Public Health and Professional Standards Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and other leaders.

Several of the community health promoters who attended the event were dressed in their field uniforms, with many wearing light blue attire commonly associated with their work in communities across the capital.

Community health promoters play a key role in linking households with health facilities through disease surveillance, health education, immunisation campaigns and referrals, making them a critical part of the country's primary healthcare system.

The gathering comes as the government continues to implement reforms in the health sector.
