Agave Affair

Tomorrow, Nairobi will host its first dedicated premium tequila festival as Agave Affair opens its gates at the KICC Event Grounds for a 10-hour celebration of music, culture, food and the agave spirit.

Organised by Radio Africa Events in partnership with the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), the festival promises to transform the city into a slice of Mexico, bringing together premium tequila brands, award-winning DJs, curated cocktails and immersive experiences in one venue.

Running from4 pm until 2 am, Agave Affair is expected to attract more than 2,000 guests eager to discover a different side of tequila beyond the familiar party shot.

The festival comes at a time when tequila is rapidly gaining popularity across the world as a premium sipping spirit, with organisers hoping to introduce Kenyan consumers to its versatility through carefully curated tastings, signature cocktails and guided brand experiences.

Throughout the evening, guests will move through different experience zones designed to showcase tequila culture in an entirely new way.

A giant Main Tent fitted with premium sound and LED screens will host performances throughout the night, while surrounding brand villages will allow visitors to sample different tequila labels and learn the stories behind them.

Professional mixologists will be serving signature tequila cocktails ranging from timeless classics to modern creations, while food vendors will pair the drinks with tacos, barbecue, sliders and other festival favourites designed to complement the flavours of agave.

Music will remain the heartbeat of the festival from sunset until the early hours of Sunday morning.

The entertainment lineup brings together some of East Africa's most celebrated DJs, including DJ Tophaz, International DJ Big Chipi, Tha Daqchild, DJ Festa, DJ Chunky Love and DJ Mista C, with MC Kibunjah keeping the energy alive throughout the night.

Fashion will also be part of the experience.

Guests are encouraged to embrace the event's Agave Chictheme by dressing in earthy tones, agave greens, linen outfits, flowing dresses, denim and festival-inspired looks that reflect the relaxed outdoor atmosphere. Since the event will be held on grass, comfortable footwear is expected to be the preferred choice for many revellers.

Beyond the music and cocktails, Agave Affair is designed as a lifestyle festival where guests can explore, socialise and create memorable moments across specially designed photo installations and relaxation spaces.

For many attendees, tomorrow's event will be their first opportunity to experience tequila through tastings, cocktail masterclasses and conversations with brand ambassadors, rather than the fast-paced drinking culture that has traditionally defined the spirit.

With the gates opening at 4pm, organisers are encouraging guests to arrive early and experience every chapter of the festival as it builds from a relaxed afternoon atmosphere into an energetic late-night celebration.

Final tickets remain available at Sh1,500 for individuals and Sh6,000 for groups of five.
