Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo says the DCP victory in the Ol Kalou by-election signals that nearly 90 per cent of Mt Kenya’s support base is no longer aligned with the broad-based government. In a social media post, Odhiambo said former Deputy President and DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua could now steer the region’s political direction, with candidates not aligned with his position facing only about a 10 per cent chance of winning. She added that the victory could  give Gachagua a mandate to lead the opposition.
