India has boosted Kenya’s preparedness and response to Ebola and other infectious diseases by donating 4.5 tonnes of medical supplies. India’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Dr Adarsh Swaika, handed over the first consignment to Health CS Aden Duale at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. The 279 packages include PPE kits, sample transportation kits, infrared thermometers, face shields, protective boots and other infection-prevention materials. A second consignment is expected soon. The support will strengthen disease surveillance, sample handling, infection control and the protection of frontline health workers.
