The phrase "city girl" has long been associated with fashionable outfits, expensive hairstyles and a glamorous social media lifestyle.

However, content creator Ntazola Gloria believes that image alone is no longer enough, arguing that today's city girls are women creating wealth, building businesses and inspiring others to succeed.

Speaking in a recent video shared on her TikTok account, Gloria said the definition of a city girl has changed, naming entrepreneurs Shiquo Hiistyle and Nila Baby Shop among the women she believes represent the new generation of successful female role models.

"City girls have changed now. The only city girls are Shiquo Hiistyle and Nila Baby Shop. Those are the girls inspiring us to be better," Gloria said.

Her remarks have since generated widespread discussion online, with many social media users debating whether entrepreneurship and financial independence have become the new symbols of success.

'Success Is More Than Appearance'

During the video, Gloria challenged women who focus solely on their appearance, saying beauty alone should not define success.

"If you are a city girl and all you have is hair, lashes and outfits, you are a regular-looking woman with no money," she said.

According to Gloria, today's successful women are those making meaningful investments and motivating others to improve their lives.

"City girls drive big cars. They own big businesses. City girls are people who inspire others to better their lives."

Her comments reflect a growing conversation on Kenyan social media, where many creators are increasingly celebrating entrepreneurship alongside lifestyle content.
