Former Machachari actress Wanjiku Mburu, popularly known as Mama Baha, has remembered her late sister Grace Wangui Mburu, alias Mama Bob, one year after her death.

Wanjiku took to Facebook on Wednesday, October 28, sharing a tribute accompanied by photos of herself and her sister.

In her brief but emotional message, the actress reflected on the anniversary of Grace’s passing, showing that she continues to hold her sister close to her heart.

“One year ago you rested! You are dated G forever,” she wrote.

The tribute comes exactly a year after Grace died in South Africa, where she reportedly lost her life following a road accident.

Her passing left family members, former castmates and fans mourning the actress, who had become a familiar face to viewers through her role in the popular Citizen TV drama.

Mama Baha and Mama Bob were real-life sisters.

One detail that surprised many viewers following Grace’s death was that she and Wanjiku were biological sisters in real life.

The two actresses played different maternal characters in Machachari, a series that followed the lives of children and families in Nairobi.

Wanjiku portrayed Mama Baha, while Grace played Mama Bob. Their characters were part of the show’s wider community of parents whose children featured in the drama.

Although the two were known to television audiences through their respective roles, their real-life family connection became a major talking point after Grace’s death was announced.

Wanjiku previously shared photographs capturing moments she had spent with her sister, including pictures from their childhood and behind-the-scenes moments from their time on the show.

How Mama Bob’s death affected Machachari fans

News of Grace’s death emerged in November 2025, when Wanjiku publicly announced the loss of her sister.

The actress’s death prompted emotional tributes from former castmates and Kenyans who remembered watching Machachari during its years on television.
