Nairobi is preparing for its first dedicated premium tequila festival on 25 July 2026.The Agave Affair is a partnership between Radio Africa Events and the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
This 10-hour lifestyle experience aims to shift how the city discovers and celebrates the Mexican spirit.
The Venue: Central and Secure
The organisers selected the KICC Event Grounds for its central location and world-class infrastructure. It is situated on Harambee Avenue in the heart of the Central Business District. The venue offers 7,500 square metres of lush lawn space for the festival's complex layout.

A Star-Studded DJ Lineup
The musical journey moves through Afrobeats, Amapiano, and Afro-house sets as the sun goes down. The roster features "The Big Man," DJ Festa, and "The Hype Master," DJ Chunky Love.
They join DJ Mista C, known for his genre-blending artistry, and DJ Tophaz, also called "Mr. 5ive Star."
International star DJ Big Chipi and Tha Daqchild, the "King of Good Times," will also perform. The entire event is hosted by James Kibunja, famously known as MC Kibunjah.
Choosing Your Spirit: Beginner to Pro
The festival aims to move away from "fast, aggressive" shot culture. Currently, 87% of Kenyan consumers have only ever taken tequila as a shot.

Pros and connoisseurs should try "Añejo" tequila neat at room temperature. This aged spirit offers deep, oak and vanilla notes reminiscent of fine whiskey.
Dressing for the Occasion
The official dress code is Agave Chic. Guests are encouraged to wear earthy tones and agave greens.Recommended styles include "boho-chic" with linen sets, hats, and denim withflair.
Because the event is outdoors on grass, attendees should opt for block heels or elegant flat sandals over stilettos. The aesthetic is described as Coachella meets Nairobi elegance.
Benefits of Attending
Attendees will have access to a "Main Tent" with LED screens and individual "Brand Tents" for immersive showcases. A food court will serve tacos, BBQ & sliders specifically paired with tequila.
