The Embu County Government has set aside Sh340 million in its 2026/2027 budget to absorb Universal Health Coverage (UHC) staff into permanent and pensionable terms, pending approval by the County Assembly. Speaking at a medical outreach camp at Runyenjes Level Four Hospital, Health Chief Officer Patrick Mukavi said the funds will also cater for promotions of long-serving workers. The initiative aims to boost morale, improve service delivery, and curb recurring industrial disputes in the county.
