At least 59 Kenyans have been confirmed killed while fighting for Russia in the Ukraine war, according to watchdog platform Stop Russian Recruiters. The group says nearly 3,000 Africans from 40 countries have joined Russia's military since 2022. The report comes despite Kenya's announcement that Moscow had agreed to stop recruiting Kenyans. Campaigners warn online job adverts continue to lure job seekers into military service through deceptive employment offers.
