OL KALOU BY-ELECTION: VOTING UNIDERWAY 1PM ROUND UP

Voting is underway in the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election, with long queues reported at several polling stations as residents turn out to elect their next MP. The constituency has more than 73,000 registered voters.

Central Regional Commissioner Joshua Nkanatha has assured Ol Kalou residents of adequate security throughout the by-election. Nkanatha urged voters to turn out peacefully and exercise their democratic right, saying security agencies are on high alert to ensure the poll remains peaceful, orderly and free from intimidation.

UDA candidate Samuel Muchina says he is ready to accept the outcome of the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election. Speaking after casting his vote, Muchina said the electorate will have the final say and pledged to respect whatever verdict voters deliver at the ballot. His opponent Sammy Kamau of DCP cast his vote at A.C. Primary School Polling Station, joining other candidates and residents taking part in the parliamentary by-election.
