On 25 July 2026, this movement reaches a new milestone. The KICC Event Grounds will host the Agave Affair. This is the first dedicated premium tequila festival in Kenya.
Reimagining the Agave Spirit
The festival is a partnership between Radio Africa Events and the KICC. It aims to introduce the city to the craftsmanship behind one of the world's fastest-growing spirits.
Currently, tequila ranks as the third fastest-growing spirit category in East Africa. However, most people in Kenya still misunderstand how to drink it.
Studies show that "87% of Kenyan consumers have only ever taken tequila as a shot". The Agave Affair wants to change this perception. Organisers describe the event as "Nairobi's first true homage to tequila". They want to show that it is a sophisticated spirit for sipping.
The event is designed as a 10-hour lifestyle experience. It will feature a "Main Tent" as the central attraction and "Brand Tents" for immersive showcases. Guests are encouraged to follow an "Agave Chic" dress code.
This includes earthy tones, agave greens, and "boho-chic" styles like linen sets and hats.
The entertainment follows a curated sonic journey. The lineup includes some of the biggest names in the region. DJ Mista C is known for his "genre-blending artistry" and smooth transitions. He is joined by DJ Tophaz, also known as "Mr. 5ive Star," who has millions of views on his online mixes.
International DJ Big Chipi, a major Amapiano star, will also perform. Helping lead the crowd is MC Kibunjah, famously called "The Only MC with an LLB". Joining them is Tha Daqchild, known as the "King of Good Times".

The KICC was chosen for its central location and expansive outdoor grounds. The venue will feature a food court serving "tacos, BBQ & sliders". These dishes are specifically "paired with tequila pairing suggestions" to elevate the tasting experience.
