Communication expert and media trainer Orator Walubengo has challenged Kenyans to look beyond personal opinions and study what makes some of the country’s most talked-about personalities stand out.
In a video shared on his Instagram account, Walubengo analysed what he described as the top 10 people in Kenya who have demonstrated an extraordinary level of audacity, arguing that confidence is one of the most valuable traits anyone can develop.
His list featured a mix of politicians, entertainers, social media personalities and religious figures who have consistently dominated public conversations, often attracting both praise and criticism.
Among those he named were Onyango Tate, President William Ruto, Tonka, Karen Nyamu, Pastor James Ng’ang’a, Oscar Sudi, Boina, Andrew Kibe, Stevo Simple Boy and Truphena Muthoni, and Mbavu Destroyer.

Looking beyond popularity
Rather than discussing whether the personalities are right or wrong, Walubengo focused on what he believes aspiring creators and professionals can learn from their self-belief.
“Whether you like it or not, there is one thing that you can study from these people. Confidence is a treasure.”
One of the biggest mistakes people make is dismissing individuals simply because they disagree with them.
He argued that intellectual growth comes from being able to identify useful lessons, even from people whose views, careers or lifestyles may not align with one’s own.
“Intellectualism and intelligence are when you can learn from someone you don’t like.”
The communication expert said confidence often separates those who remain unnoticed from those who build influence and attract opportunities.

A message for aspiring creators
Walubengoencouraged anyone hoping to build a personal brand or public profile to stop waiting until they feel perfect before putting themselves out there.
He said confidence is developed through action rather than endless preparation.
“Take that camera and start speaking.”
The remarks come at a time when short-form video platforms and social media continue to lower the barriers to content creation, allowing ordinary Kenyans to build audiences through consistent posting and authentic communication.
Many of the personalities mentioned in Walubengo’s ranking have become household names through regular appearances online, controversial opinions or distinctive public personas. While they come from different backgrounds and industries, they have all remained visible by expressing themselves boldly and consistently.
