Nairobi is preparing for a new cultural milestone on 25 July 2026. The KICC Event Grounds will host the Agave Affair. This event is a partnership between Radio Africa Events and the KICC. It is described as "Nairobi's first true homage to tequila".
Agave Chic: The Fashion Statement
The event features a specific dress code called Agave Chic. Guests are encouraged to wear "earthy tones and agave greens." The style focuses on "boho-chic" with "flowy wear, hats, linen sets, and denim with flair".
This aesthetic is meant to make every attendee part of the brand story. Organisers describe the look as Desert glam accessories — think Coachella meets Nairobi elegance. A branded style wall will be available for photo opportunities.
A Sips and Social Experience
The Agave Affair aims to change how Kenyans drink. Currently, 87% of Kenyan consumers have only ever taken tequila as a shot. This event focuses on repositioning tequila as a premium lifestyle spirit — not just a party shot, but a sipping experience.
Attendees can expect a sophisticated layout. The grounds will feature a "Main Tent" with LED screens and "Brand Tents" for different labels. There will also be "Cocktail Bars" demonstrating how to mix tequila into world-class cocktails.
For those wanting to relax, a "Chill Zone" offers a "Sip Slow, Live Loud" lounge with creative backdrops.

Music and Entertainment
The entertainment follows a curated sonic journey. It begins at "golden hour" with an Afrobeats set. As the night progresses, guests will hear Amapiano, Afro-house, and Timeless Hip-Hop & R&B.
The lineup includes DJ Mista C, known for his genre-blending artistry. He is joined by DJ Tophaz, also called "Mr. 5ive Star." International DJ Big Chipi will bring her Amapiano expertise to the stage.
Tha Daqchild, the "King of Good Times," and MC Kibunjah, "The Only MC with an LLB," will also perform.
Food is a central part of the experience. A dedicated food court will serve tacos, BBQ & sliders. These are specifically paired with tequila pairing suggestions to elevate the spirit. This follows the global trend of treating premium tequila like a fine whisky.
