Should Eve Mungai Be Criticized for Moving On From What Made Her Famous?

Geoffrey Mosiria has weighed in on Eve Mungai’s decision to move away from entertainment interviews, questioning the move and suggesting that the content creator should consider returning to the space that made her popular.

Mosiria argued that Eve Mungai built her name through celebrity interviews and is now producing content that’s got nudity and sexual scenes.

“Nilikua nascroll tu nikaiona nikajaribu kufunga macho lakini ikashindikana.” He claims Jalas told her to go back to content creation when she announced publicly that she was selling phones now and had a shop for it.

Mosiria claims that the content she is creating is similar to that of Summertides in Malindi.

Mosiria’s Intervention and Public Statement

The Nairobi County Chief Officer also addressed Eve Mungai’s past working relationship with director Trevor, stating that he was ready to help bring the two together so they could collaborate and work together again.

Geoffrey Mosiria: "I will personally reach out to Director Trevor and ask him to help Eve Mungai produce professional content because what Eve is currently doing is, in my opinion, unprofessional—especially for someone we have always known as one of Kenya's top content creators, interviewing influential people in our society with professionalism.

Posting videos that contain nudity or sexually suggestive content is not the professional standard I knew her for. I believe her talent and influence can be used to create content that informs, inspires, and positively impacts society.

I will do my best to ensure they work together professionally, provided Eve Mungai is willing. As for Trevor, I will personally speak to him.”

The remarks sparked conversations online, with different opinions emerging on whether content creators should remain attached to the type of work that made them famous or have the freedom to explore new roles.
