Nairobi is preparing for a landmark cultural event as the Agave Affair arrives on July 25, 2026. This gathering is set to be the first true homage to tequila on Kenyan soil. In partnership with Radio Africa Events, the festival aims to shift how the city discovers and drinks the spirit.
Organisers have selected the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) as the venue for this historic showcase. The decision highlights KICC’s status as a premier location for large-scale, high-end gatherings.
A Proven Hub for World-Class Events
The choice of KICC follows a trend of hosting major global stars. The venue was last year identified as the ideal spot for the much-anticipated Kenny G concert. Reasons for selecting the site include its unmatched advantages in infrastructure and its strategic location in central Nairobi.
Just as it served the jazz legend, KICC offers the Agave Affair a spectacular, high-end atmosphere. The venue is highly accessible, situated on Harambee Avenue in the heart of the Central Business District. This simplifies logistics for the 2,000-plus guests expected to attend.

Elevating the Spirit
The Agave Affair is designed to solve a specific market problem. Currently, 87% of Kenyan consumers have only ever taken tequila as a shot. This event intends to educate consumers on its versatility, positioning it as a premium lifestyle spirit that can be sipped or turned into complex cocktails.
The festival will run for 10 hours, from 4 PM to 2 AM. The experience includes a curated sonic journey. Guests will move through Afrobeats, Amapiano, and Afro-house sets as the sun goes down and the tequila flows.
Space and Security
The KICC grounds provide a lush, scenic backdrop for the festival's "Agave Chic" aesthetic. With 7,500 square metres of lawn space that can accommodate up to 5,000, the venue allows for a complex layout. This includes a Main Tent, individual Brand Tents, a Food Court featuring tacos and BBQ, and a dedicated Chill Zone.

The event encourages an "Agave Chic" dress code, featuring earthy tones, agave greens, and boho-chic styles. It is not just a drink-up; it is a movement aimed at creating Nairobi’s annual tequila moment.
