Health CS Duale to preside over internship posting
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale will today oversee the official posting of the 2026-27 internship cohort for health professionals.
The exercise will take place at Afya House in Nairobi from 7 am and is expected to mark the deployment of newly qualified health workers to internship stations across the country.
The annual placement programme is a key step in transitioning medical graduates into professional practice and strengthening staffing within the health sector.
Court ruling expected in Kahawa West land dispute
The Milimani Environment and Land Court is expected to deliver a ruling in a dispute over ownership of government land in the Kahawa West Jua Kali area.
The case involves Gerald Chege Gitau and two others against Gatundu & Mangu Farm Company and five others over L.R No. 8569/5, a parcel said to belong to the government.
The ruling is expected to determine the next phase of the long-running dispute.
Anti-corruption courts to hear graft-related cases
Several corruption and economic crime cases are scheduled for hearing in courts across the country.
In Nyahururu, the Anti-Corruption Court will continue hearing a case involving Arnold Karani Njiru and four others over the alleged misappropriation of Sh14.8 million linked to a project under the Laikipia East NG-CDF.
The matter is scheduled to run for two days.
In Eldoret, the court will hear a case involving the former principal of Chebororwa Agricultural Training Centre and four others accused of offences linked to the alleged fraudulent withdrawal of Sh11.4 million belonging to the institution.
At the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court, proceedings are set to begin in a conflict of interest case involving former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and another accused person over a Sh10 million revenue collection services contract.
The case is scheduled to run until July 2.
Recovery suits up for mention and hearing
The Milimani Environment and Land Court will hear a suit filed by Scorpion Properties seeking recovery of a fire station in Gigiri on behalf of the former Nairobi City Council.
Meanwhile, the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court will mention a suit seeking cancellation of a Sh995 million tender and recovery of Sh220.4 million allegedly paid as advance payment to a contractor.
Another matter set for mention involves a recovery suit seeking Sh63.7 million paid by the Kiambu county government to Filtronic International Limited under contracts alleged to have been fraudulent and illegal.
