Kenyan boxer and fitness personality Gachau has spoken candidly about online criticism and public commentary, saying he prefers dealing with personal attacks directly rather than responding from a distance.
Speaking during an interview on the Iko Nini TV podcast, Gachau reflected on the style of commentary used by content creator and media personality Andrew Kibe, particularly in relation to criticism directed at public figures.
While discussing online culture and personal boundaries, Gachau suggested there are moments when public commentary can cross into personal territory. “You know me — when Kibe jokes about certain things concerning me, I can look for him and talk to him directly.”

He explained that his approach is not centred on public exchanges but private confrontation. “If he talks about me or enjoys making me the topic, I would rather find him personally and ask him to say the same thing directly.”
Concerns over online criticism
Gachau went on to comment on Kibe’s recent online content, suggesting he had noticed a return to stronger criticism aimed at individuals. According to Gachau, there had been a period when such content appeared less frequently.
“I think Kibe had reduced that style of attacking people. Now it feels like he has gained the courage to do it again.”
He questioned what may have changed and said he sometimes struggles to understand the reasons behind repeated criticism directed at different public figures.
“From time to time, he attacks someone, and I do not understand why.”
Reference to Stevo Simple Boy discussion
Part of Gachau’s remarks focused on comments that had circulated online involving musician Stevo Simple Boy.
Without discussing the wider debate in detail, Gachau suggested that public commentary should remain measured.
“That conversation about Stevo Simple Boy — I think he should moderate himself.”
His comments appeared to reflect concern about how criticism can affect public personalities, particularly when discussions move beyond analysis and become personal.
Andrew Kibe has built a large online following through opinion-based commentary and discussions on entertainment, relationships and current affairs. His content has frequently generated strong reactions from supporters and critics alike.
Gachau did not indicate any personal dispute with Kibe but made it clear that, in his view, disagreements are better handled through direct conversation than prolonged exchanges online.
“If there is something to say, say it directly.”
