Prophet Victor Kanyari has finally addressed the source of the vast sums of money he spends on his congregation. During the Sunday service at Salvation Healing Ministries, the preacher explained how he funds his daily charitable acts.

Kanyari is well known for distributing large quantities of maize flour and cash to his followers. He revealed that these giveaways, which can exceed 400,000 shillings in a single day, do not come from church offerings.

The Secret Business Profits

The preacher told his congregation that he owns a private company that generates significant daily revenue. He explained that he regularly consults with his manager to monitor the firm’s financial performance.

According to Kanyari, the business is highly lucrative. He claimed that on a good day, the company can record profits ranging from 700,000 to 1.5 million shillings.

"You know I don’t like mentioning some things because of the fights out here. I own a company, and I occasionally call the manager asking him how much money they’ve made in a day. He tells me today we have been able to make a profit of 1 million, 700,000, or 1.5 million profit,” Kanyari boasted.

Funding the Church Handouts

Kanyari uses these personal business profits to fund his ministry’s outreach programmes. He noted that on the days his company performs well, he allocates a portion of the earnings to buy food for his worshippers.

He specifically mentioned spending 400,000 shillings on maize flour (unga). Additionally, he claimed to "bless" people with around 500,000 shillings during his services.

"That is the day I come here and give out 400,000 shillings worth of maize flour and bless about 500,000 people. Outside, I walk around giving people money."

A Philosophy of Giving

The preacher insisted that his generosity is the key to his continued financial success. He believes that by giving to others, he ensures that God continues to provide for him.

He clarified that he does not encourage his followers to give money to him personally. Instead, he views his own acts of charity as a spiritual "secret" to opening new doors of opportunity.

"Let me tell you the secret about giving and saving," Kanyari told the worshippers. "When you give, God will open your doors. I am not telling you this so that you give to me. Do not give to me."

Victor Kanyari has been a household name in Kenya for over a decade. He first gained national attention during a 2014 investigative report that questioned the legitimacy of his "miracles."

At the time, he was famous for asking for a "seed" of 310 shillings, a figure derived from the Bible verse Malachi 3:10.

In recent years, Kanyari has successfully rebranded himself. In 2024, he embraced social media, particularly TikTok, where he frequently interacted with followers and received digital "gifts."
