Bradley Marongo, the 23-year-old sensation widely known as the "Gen Z Goliath," has captured the public's imagination with his towering height and rapid rise to stardom.
Standing at a staggering 8ft 2in and weighing 123kg, the Nakuru-born star has become a household name in Kenya. However, beneath the glitz of brand deals and international travel lies a story of personal struggle and a firm resolve regarding his past relationships.
Speaking candidly on the Netwalking Show with host Wilbroda, Marongo opened up about his journey from poverty to the limelight. He revealed that before his fame, his life was defined by hard graft and survival.
He once worked as a bus conductor and even spent nights travelling between Nakuru and Nairobi because he had nowhere to sleep in the city.
A Past Rooted in Hardship
Marongo’s personal life has often been a topic of public curiosity. During the podcast, he confirmed that he was once married in his home village. He explained that the relationship crumbled long before he became a celebrity.
According to Marongo, the primary reason for the split was his lack of financial stability at the time.
"When girls do not see money, they cannot stay in a home."
He noted that when he was struggling, his then-partner decided to leave and has since moved on to another marriage. Now that Marongo is successful, he says there have been attempts to reconcile, but he remains steadfast in his decision to stay single.
Why the Door is Closed
For Marongo, the decision not to reunite with his former partner is a matter of principle. He views her departure during his darkest hours as a betrayal that cannot be easily mended.
He compared the idea of returning to that relationship to stepping back into filth after having moved away from it.
"I cannot accept that," he stated, explaining that if someone left because of a lack of money, there is no guarantee they wouldn't leave again if hard times returned. He believes that focusing on his career is more important than chasing past romances that lacked a solid foundation.
"I want to concentrate on my career. Let us find money first; women do not run out."
Prioritising the Child
Despite the rift with his "baby mama," Marongo is dedicated to his four-year-old child. He described the youngster as already showing signs of inheriting his father’s impressive height.
While he does not communicate directly with his ex-partner, he ensures the child’s needs are met through his mother.
Marongo maintains that his child is a blessing and that he will never abandon his parental responsibilities. He remains focused on his future, with plans to expand his brand internationally to markets like Ethiopia and Pakistan.
For now, the "Gen Z Goliath" is choosing to walk his path alone, ensuring his family is provided for while keeping his eyes on the horizon.
