Kenya's football fan culture is set for another major spectacle after comedian and Manchester United supporter Eric Omondi announced plans for a gathering of rival football supporters at Nyayo National Stadium on June 14.
Dubbed the “United Opposition”, the event is expected to bring together fans of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Tottenham Hotspur in a symbolic showdown against Arsenal supporters.
The announcement comes just weeks after Arsenal fans dominated football conversations in Kenya following the club's historic 2025/26 English Premier League title triumph, ending a 22-year wait for the league title. The celebrations saw thousands of supporters flood Nairobi's Central Business District, turning parts of the city into a sea of red and white.

The planned gathering follows another high-profile football celebration led by Eric Omondi on Madaraka Day. The comedian joined rival supporters in Nairobi's CBD to mock Arsenal's defeat to PSG in the UEFA Champions League final.
What began as online banter quickly transformed into a major public event as supporters from several clubs converged at the National Archives. Videos shared online showed singing, dancing and chants directed at Arsenal fans following their European heartbreak.
