Kenyan music producer and artist Magix Enga has sparked online conversations after criticising local event organisers for failing to bring major international female artists to perform in the country.
The producer made the remarks through social media, where he questioned why Kenyan promoters have not managed to organise performances for globally recognised stars despite the country’s growing entertainment industry.
In the viral statement, Magix Enga specifically referenced American rapper Nicki Minaj, saying Kenyan fans have listened to her music for years but have never had the chance to watch her perform locally.
“Manze mko chini, kuna mtu kama Nicki Minaj watu wameishi kumskiza. Kenya event organisers hawazi kumu afford huyo msichana mmoja akuje afurahishe watu,” he said.
