Hotpoint Appliances and Hisense have partnered ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, in a move that will see Hotpoint become the official distributor of Hisense products in Kenya.
The partnership will enable Hotpoint to utilise its extensive retail, distribution and after-sales network to bring Hisense’s collection of AI-enhanced televisions, smart home gadgets and connected living solutions to the Kenyan market.
The deal reflects a growing trend among electronics retailers seeking to tap into rising demand for smart entertainment systems, energy-efficient devices and integrated home ecosystems, driven by increasing digital adoption in Kenyan households.
Hotpoint said the partnership marks a significant milestone in expanding access to globally recognised consumer technologies through its wide-reaching retail and service network.
The collaboration is also expected to intensify competition in Kenya's fast-growing electronics and home appliance market, as brands increasingly shift towards AI-powered electronics and energy-efficient smart technologies.
Hisense said Kenya remains a key market in its broader African expansion strategy and called on the government to introduce favourable tax incentives to support plans for local assembly.
“Teaming up with Hotpoint represents a significant milestone in Hisense's African expansion strategy and underscores our long-term dedication to the Kenyan market. Together, we are providing Kenyan consumers with access to some of the world's most cutting-edge innovations in home entertainment and smart living,” said Jason Ou.
The launch also marked the Kenyan debut of several of Hisense’s latest premium technologies, including the UR9 Series RGB MiniLED TVs unveiled at CES 2026, the UR8 Series RGB MiniLED lineup and PureView Quad-Door refrigerators.
The partnership was unveiled alongside a nationwide football-themed marketing campaign tied to Hisense's sponsorship of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
As part of the promotion, customers purchasing selected Hisense smart TVs through Hotpoint will receive a complimentary one-month DStv Compact subscription valued at Sh4,200, with the televisions pre-loaded with DStv Stream.
The 48-team FIFA World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada between June 12 and July 19, 2026.
