Schneider Electric has opened a new Innovation Hub and Hands-On Training Centre in Nairobi, marking a major push to advance energy innovation, digitalisation and skills development across East Africa.
The global energy technology leader announced the launch on Wednesday, describing the facility as a milestone in its efforts to support energy management, automation and sustainability in the region.
Located at the company’s newly established office on the 10th Floor of The Purple Tower along Mombasa Road, the centre is designed as a “living showcase” of Schneider Electric’s technologies.
The Innovation Hub allows customers, partners and stakeholders to interact directly with the company’s latest solutions in real-world settings. It brings together energy management, automation and digital systems to demonstrate how integrated technologies can improve efficiency, resilience and sustainability in buildings and industrial operations.
According to the company, the hub is built to show how connected systems can transform the way energy is managed across different sectors. It offers an immersive environment where users can experience smart energy solutions in action.
Alongside the Innovation Hub is a Service and Training Centre aimed at building technical capacity in a rapidly evolving energy landscape. The facility focuses on practical learning and hands-on experience.
The company says the initiative is intended to strengthen local talent and improve readiness within the energy ecosystem across the region.

“Through the Innovation Hub, Service and Training Center, we are not only building technical expertise but also creating greater awareness of how connected technologies can drive efficiency, sustainability, and growth across industries in Kenya and beyond.”
The Nairobi office has also been fitted with a range of advanced technologies that showcase Schneider Electric’s integrated approach to energy management.
These include busway systems for efficient power distribution, uninterruptible power supply systems providing up to two hours of full-office backup, KNX automated lighting systems, and a building management system for centralised control and optimisation.
Other installations include environmental monitoring systems that track air quality, temperature and humidity, type-tested Prisma switchboards with smart breakers and metering, and InRow cooling systems designed for precision thermal management.
All the systems are connected to enable real-time monitoring, data-driven insights and optimised performance across the entire facility.
Schneider Electric says the launch reflects its long-term commitment to supporting sustainable development in East Africa through advanced technology and innovation.
