President William Ruto has hosted a delegation of religious leaders from Bungoma County at the State House, Nairobi.

The meeting underscored the administration’s continued engagement with religious institutions as key partners in governance and community development.

The engagement, which was also attended by Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka, brought together clergy from various denominations who were received by the President in what was described as a cordial and reflective engagement on national issues, development priorities, and the role of the church in society.

In his remarks, President Ruto expressed appreciation for the longstanding relationship between his administration and religious leaders across the country.

He further noted that the clergy remains a critical pillar in promoting unity, moral guidance, and national cohesion.

“We are very proud of the relationship we have built with the clergy in Bungoma and Kenya,” the President said, thanking the delegation for taking time to visit State House and engage with his office.

Ruto further acknowledged the role of faith leaders in complementing government efforts, noting that collaboration with religious institutions has been central to his administration’s approach.

Governor Kenneth Lusaka, who accompanied the delegation, also used the occasion to highlight ongoing development projects in Bungoma County, defending the broader administration’s record on infrastructure, health, and economic empowerment programmes.

He pointed to continued investments in key sectors as evidence of progress in the region.

Saturday’s engagement is seen as part of a broader strategy by the administration to maintain open channels of communication with faith-based organisations, while also reinforcing partnerships aimed at supporting development initiatives at both national and county levels.

The President reiterated his commitment to working closely with the clergy, emphasising that inclusive dialogue remains central to his leadership approach.

At the centre of the meeting was mutual acknowledgement of cooperation, with both government and religious leaders expressing optimism about continued collaboration.
