Chelsea vs Manchester City (FA Cup final)

[Wembley Stadium, Saturday at 5pm]

‎Eight-time FA Cup winners Chelsea lock horns with seven-time champions Manchester City in a blockbuster Wembley final that could define the mood around both clubs heading into the summer.

‎Chelsea arrive at Wembley after edging Leeds United 1-0 in the semi-finals, desperately seeking silverware to rescue what has otherwise been a turbulent 2025/26 campaign.

The Blues sit ninth in the Premier League table and, as things stand, outside the European places.

‎City, meanwhile, overcame Southampton 2-1 to book their place in yet another domestic final, even as they continue to stalk league leaders Arsenal in a gripping title race.

Pep Guardiola’s side have looked ominously sharp in recent weeks and carry a clear psychological edge into Wembley.

‎The last two league meetings between these sides only strengthen City’s status as favourites.

After a 1-1 draw at the Etihad, Guardiola’s men dismantled Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.

‎Chelsea’s recent record against City is equally concerning.

Their last FA Cup triumph over the Manchester giants came back in April 2021, when Thomas Tuchel masterminded a 1-0 semi-final victory.

Still, cup finals have a habit of tearing up form books.

‎Prediction: Chelsea 1- 3 Manchester City

Aston Villa vs Liverpool

‎[Villa Park, Friday at 10pm]

‎Under the lights at Villa Park, Aston Villa and Liverpool meet in a fixture loaded with Champions League implications.

‎Villa sit fifth, Liverpool fourth, with both sides level on 59 points.

‎There is, however, another subplot hovering over Unai Emery’s side.

Villa face Freiburg in the Europa League final just five days later in Istanbul, and that looming showpiece may heavily influence Emery’s selection.

‎Villa’s recent league form has also shown signs of strain.

A frustrating 2-2 draw against Burnley exposed defensive vulnerabilities, while Liverpool were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Chelsea at Anfield in a result that dented their momentum.

The reverse fixture ended 2-0 in Liverpool’s favour.

‎Liverpool’s travels have often been inconsistent this season, but the circumstances surrounding Villa’s European distraction could tilt the balance.

With a potential rotated home side and Champions League qualification still hanging in the balance, Liverpool should arrive with greater urgency and sharper focus.

‎Prediction: Aston Villa 1-2 Liverpool

‎Kakamega Homeboyz vs AFC Leopards

[Mumias Sports Complex, Saturday at 2pm]

‎The Ingo Derby takes centre stage in the SportPesa League this weekend as Kakamega Homeboyz host title-chasing AFC Leopards in what promises to be a fiercely charged western Kenya showdown.

Leopards remain firmly in the title conversation, sitting second on 61 points, just four behind leaders Gor Mahia with three matches remaining.

Ingwe can ill afford any slip-ups. Their confidence received a timely boost midweek following a commanding 2-0 victory over Ulinzi Stars.

‎Homeboyz, by contrast, are wobbling badly.

They are winless in their last five league outings and have struggled to find rhythm in both boxes during that spell.

That said, recent derby history offers the hosts encouragement. Homeboyz edged the reverse fixture 1-0 and believe they can frustrate Leopards once again on familiar turf.

‎But this version of AFC Leopards appears more mature, more balanced and fully aware that championships are often decided in difficult away grounds such as Mumias.

‎If they manage the occasion and emotions properly, Ingwe have enough quality to grind out a massive three points.

‎Prediction: Kakamega Homeboyz 0-2 AFC Leopards
