Kenyan content creator and influencer Akoko Val has given fans a glimpse into her recent holiday in Zanzibar after posting a lively clip from the coastal destination on her TikTok page.
Warm Welcome in Zanzibar
The short video quickly attracted reactions from fans, many of whom praised the hospitality shown to the Kenyan influencer during her stay. Others admired the scenic surroundings and the upbeat mood captured in the clip.
Zanzibar remains one of East Africa’s most visited beach destinations, attracting travellers from across the region because of its white sandy beaches, historical sites and Swahili culture.
The phrase “hakuna matata,” which translates to “no worries” in Swahili, is widely associated with the region’s tourism and hospitality culture.
“Akoko Val from Kenya, welcome to Zanzibar… Zanzibar hakuna matata," the placard read.
The phrase has also gained international recognition over the years through East African music and tourism campaigns. The classic Kenyan song Jambo Bwana popularised “hakuna matata” across the region and among international visitors.
Fans React to the Holiday Clip
Akoko Val’s post added to a growing trend of Kenyan influencers and entertainers documenting trips to Zanzibar, which has increasingly become a preferred holiday spot for East African celebrities and social media personalities.
Her TikTok video focused mainly on the reception she received upon arrival, as well as the calm holiday atmosphere during her stay. The creator did not share further details about the duration of the trip, but the clip appeared to capture one of the standout moments from her visit.
Zanzibar, which forms part of Tanzania, is particularly popular for beach tourism, spice tours and cultural experiences linked to Swahili heritage.
Tourism continues to play a major role in the islands’ economy, with visitors from neighbouring East African countries forming a significant share of regional travellers.
