The Confrontation
A recent video captured a direct exchange between Naipei and an unidentified man. The man confronted her about the rumours that have been swirling online. In the footage, the man starts by asking if she is alright.
He then asks her directly if she is a lesbian. Naipei’s response is immediate. She denies the allegation.
“I’m not a lesbian. I want to clarify that once again, I’m really not a lesbian,” she firmly stated.
"You are embarrassing us"
The man expresses deep disappointment during the conversation. He tells Naipei that her actions are bringing shame to those associated with her. "You know you are embarrassing the Maasai," he says in the video.
He refers to the recent videos that have surfaced. He notes that the community has not yet recovered from seeing those things. In response, Naipei offers an apology to those she has offended. She says, "Poleni," which is a Swahili term for "I'm sorry."
The exchange concludes with the man offering advice on her future conduct. He urges her to distance herself from certain friends. He tells her to avoid "besties" who have those specific habits.
He asks her if she will commit to being a "good person" from now on. Naipei agrees and says, "Yes."
The man then indicates that he is taking her back to a religious environment. He tells her he is taking her to church immediately.
"But now what you will do, you will avoid besties who do those habits. Right? Will you be a good person?” he asked her.
