Kenyan model Celine Dion Okello, known professionally as Rue Baby, has publicly addressed critics targeting her appearance on social media.
The fashion personality posted a direct response to online trolling regarding her dark skin colour and slim body shape. She shared a photograph on Facebook whilst enjoying a social outing with her close friend.
Her post featured a morning greeting alongside a message confronting negative comments from internet users.
Addressing the Hate Online
Rue Baby questioned the motives behind the hostile messages sent to her social media accounts. She highlighted that there is no personal history or conflict between her and the commentators.
"Good morning from my bestie and I," she wrote in her opening caption.

She then directly addressed the online resentment she receives from strangers, pointing out that neither side has wronged the other in any way.
"Lakini wivu ni ya nini guys? Why so much hate yet hunijui, sikujui. Hujanikosea, sijakukosea," she stated.
Calling Out Female Commentators
A key aspect of her statement focused on the identity of those leaving critical remarks on her profile. Rue Baby revealed that fellow women accounted for the majority of the negative feedback.
"And sadly, it's mostly women," she noted.
She urged her followers to reject body shaming and embrace dark skin tones and slender figures with pride.
"Anywho, let us shine with our beautiful dark skins and skinny bodies," she concluded.
