Football’s grandest rivalry returns to centre stage on Sunday night as Barcelona and Real Madrid collide in another seismic edition of the El Clasico ta Camp Nou.

Barcelona enter the contest as league leaders with 88 points, 11 clear of their second-placed rivals.

Barcelona have been relentless in recent weeks, stringing together a stunning 10-match winning streak that has tightened their grip on the La Liga crown.

Their latest outing was a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Osasuna.

But Madrid are rarely a side to be written off in this fixture. They come into the showdown unbeaten in their last four league matches, most recently dispatching Espanyol 2-0 with trademark efficiency.

However, they face a mounting injury crisis at the worst possible time.

Kylian Mbappe is sidelined with a hamstring problem, while Jude Bellingham remains a major doubt after struggling with a hamstring issue too. Defensively, Madrid are stretched thin with Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal unavailable.

Barcelona's high-octane attacking football, quick interchanges and relentless pressing could cause serious problems for a depleted Madrid backline.

Yet history warns against underestimating Madrid in El Clssico. The previous meeting ended in a 2-1 victory for Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu.

This one has all the ingredients of a classic with intensity, emotion, controversy and moments of individual brilliance expected to be on display.

Prediction: Barcelona 2-1 Real Madrid

Liverpool vs Chelsea

[Anfield, Saturday at 2:30pm]

The Saturday early kick off at Anfield arrives with plenty riding on it for both sides, though the pressure gauge is tilted heavily toward Liverpool.

Fourth-placed Liverpool host a wounded Chelsea outfit in a clash that could shape the race for European football heading into the final stretch of the season.

The Reds sit on 58 points, level with Aston Villa, and know that any slip-up at Anfield could throw their Champions League ambitions into real jeopardy. Chelsea, meanwhile, are marooned in ninth place on 48 points and staring at the possibility of finishing outside the European spots.

The Blues arrive on Merseyside battered and bruised after a dreadful run that has seen them lose six straight Premier League matches. Their latest setback was a 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool, by contrast, are unbeaten in their last four league matches at home.

Chelsea’s recent record on this ground offers little encouragement. The Londoners have not won at Anfield since March 2021, when they ground out a narrow 1-0 win behind closed doors.

Still, the Blues will cling to the memory of the reverse fixture, where they edged Liverpool 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool’s attacking fluency should create chances, but their vulnerability at the back continues to leave the door open for opponents.

Prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Chelsea

Gor Mahia vs Kenya Police FC

[Nyayo Stadium, Sunday at 3pm]

The SportPesa League title race takes centre stage on Sunday afternoon as leaders Gor Mahia square off against champions Kenya Police FC at Nyayo Stadium.

K’Ogalo have 64 points and head into the encounter with momentum firmly on their side after beating Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 earlier this week.

That result extended their unbeaten run to three matches.

Police, have struggled to replicate the consistency that powered last season’s title charge and sit third on 51 points, four behind AFC Leopards.

Despite their inconsistent campaign, Police have quietly pieced together a six-match unbeaten streak and edged Murang’a Seal 2-1 in midweek to keep their hopes alive.

Recent meetings between these two sides suggest little separates them.

Across their last eight encounters, Gor Mahia have claimed three victories, Kenya Police two, while three matches have ended level. Their most recent clash, however, belonged to K’Ogalo, who produced a commanding 2-0 win.

Gor Mahia’s experience in pressure situations, coupled with their recent dominance in this fixture, gives them a slight edge heading into Sunday’s showdown.

Prediction: Gor Mahia 2-0 Kenya Police FC
