Raymond Kahuma has done it again. The popular food content creator recently revealed the staggering cost and effort behind his latest project: a 200kg chapati.

This massive undertaking marks his second attempt at securing a Guinness World Record for the world's largest flatbread.

Kahuma first made international headlines in 2022. He successfully broke the record in Uganda with a dedicated team of cooks and a massive custom frying pan. For his latest venture, he moved the operation to Kenya to try and beat his own previous achievement.

The Price of a Record

Breaking world records is an expensive business. Kahuma shared a breakdown of his expenses on social media, revealing that this second attempt cost a total of 951,000 Kenyan Shillings (Ksh).

The financial investment was only one part of the challenge. The logistics of the project required months of preparation. It took two full months of planning before the team even touched the dough.

"Second attempt at making world's largest chapati was even crazier."

A Mammoth Production

The scale of the production was visible in the filming process. The team spent 57 days filming the attempt. To ensure they captured every angle of the record-breaking moment, they used seven cameras and two drones.

This resulted in a massive amount of data. The crew had to manage 6 Terabytes of footage by the end of the shoot. Once the filming ended, the work shifted to the studio. Editors spent five weeks cutting the footage down into a finished video for his followers.

Behind the Scenes

The project was not a solo effort. Kahuma worked alongside three different brands to bring the 200kg "roti" to life. While the creator is known for his high-energy videos, this project pushed his team to new limits.

The transition from a 2022 record-holder to attempting the feat again shows the competitive nature of modern food content. Kahuma noted that this particular experience in Kenya was significantly more intense than his first attempt.

What’s Next for Kahuma?

The final product is now live for his audience to view. Aside from his culinary stunts, Kahuma continues to engage with a global audience. His recent posts also mention his involvement in upcoming international tech and business events, such as the Odoo Experience 2026.

For now, the focus remains on the giant 200kg chapati. It stands as one of the most expensive and time-consuming pieces of food content ever produced in the region.

The creator has effectively turned a simple kitchen staple into a massive logistical operation that spans months of work and nearly a million shillings in costs.
