Kenyan actor and media personality Manasseh Nyagah has opened up about some of the unusual messages he receives on social media, telling Alex Mwakideu during an interview that he considers himself “straight as an arrow”.
The South Africa-based actor was discussing his experiences with direct messages when the conversation turned to the attention he receives online.
Mwakideu noted that Nyagah has what he described as a distinctive African look, before asking about some of the bold messages that land in his inbox.

Nyagah said some of the messages can be surprisingly direct, revealing that he has even received unsolicited intimate images in his DMs.
“Some of the things… some people are so bold. I’m just like, we’re going to have audacity.”
He added that he sometimes receives messages from people in other countries, including individuals he described as stars.
One person who contacted him was particularly interested in meeting him and lived on another continent.
The person was reportedly willing to travel to meet him, leaving the actor amused by the situation.
‘Team B’ message
As the conversation continued, Nyagah appeared to draw a line between the attention he welcomes and messages he does not want.
He said some of the people sending him messages were “guys who are playing for Team B”, before making his position clear.
“Muwache, mukome leo tafadhali. Just be sure today, straight as an arrow.”
The remarks have since attracted attention online, with some social media users debating the meaning behind his comments.
Some commenters have also discussed his fashion choices, including his earrings, while others suggested his statement could have been part of his personal branding or marketing strategy.
Those reactions remain social-media speculation, however, and do not establish anything about Nyagah’s personal life.
‘I’m more traditional’
Nyagah also explained that he generally does not take online approaches too seriously.
He described himself as someone who prefers meeting people in person rather than immediately trusting relationships that begin online.
“I’m more traditional in meeting people in person.”
Despite that, he admitted that the experience of receiving such a bold approach from someone living on another continent made him realise how unpredictable life can be.
Manasseh’s entertainment career
Nyagah has worked across acting, television, modelling and content creation.
His professional acting career took shape after he became involved in television, following his early interest in drama. He later worked as a presenter and commercial model.
His acting credits include productions such as Uradi, Famous and Mzuka, while his profile in the entertainment industry has also included television hosting and modelling.
