Law enforcement officers in Trans Nzoia County have arrested two individuals for their involvement in organised criminal activities.

The arrests were made during a coordinated operation in Chebarus and Kibomet areas of Trans Nzoia West Sub-County.

The operation was carried out by police officers from Kitale Police Station working together with a team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Headquarters.

The arrests followed a raid based on intelligence reports. Officers conducted a thorough search which led to the recovery of several items suspected to have been used in criminal activities.

These included a military-style tactical uniform, two pairs of combat boots, a sword, metal rods, and multiple mobile phones.

All seized items have been secured as exhibits and will be presented as evidence in court.

The DCI confirmed that “acting on intelligence, police officers from Kitale Police Station joined forces with a team of officers from DCI Headquarters, executing a well-coordinated raid in Chebarus and Kibomet areas.”

The statement further noted that “the meticulous search that followed yielded a military-style tactical uniform, two pairs of combat boots, a sword, metal rods, and several mobile phones.”

Authorities reported that “the suspects are now in lawful custody, undergoing processing pending arraignment.” The DCI emphasized its ongoing commitment, stating that “the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reaffirms its commitment to dismantling organised criminal networks through intelligence-led operations.”
