
The 2025 data on crime rates in Kenya reveals a significant disparity in reported incidents across different regions.
Nairobi leads the country with the highest frequency of crime, recording 9,958 reported incidents.
Following the capital, Kiambu and Meru also show high numbers, with 7,364 and 5,534 incidents, respectively.
Nakuru and Machakos complete the list of the five most affected counties, reporting 4,719 and 4,200 cases.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, several counties maintain much lower incident counts.
Tana River is identified as having the lowest crime rate in the country, with 359 reported incidents.
Samburu and Mandera also rank among the safest areas, recording 382 and 419 incidents.
Rounding out the five counties with the lowest rates are Wajir with 425 incidents and Lamu with 453.
These figures highlight the varying security challenges faced by urban and rural populations.
