Governor George Natembeya speaking in kwanza sub county on April 28th 2026
Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has sustained his criticism of Kenya Kwanza, accusing the government of imposing unworkable policies and programmes on Kenyans.
Natembeya said the failed policies and programmes had made the government unpopular and easy to remove from office.
“They are so unpopular that even the Gen Zs were chasing them away from power. It will be very easy for Kenyans to vote them out,” Natembeya said.
He said SHA and the education system were examples of failed government programmes that were not benefiting Kenyans, yet President William Ruto and his team had ignored calls to rectify existing shortfalls.
The governor, who was speaking in Kwanza sub-county, said many things were not working in government and Kenyans were angered by the challenges they were facing as a result of bad leadership.
“Those who think it will not be possible to remove this government from power are dreaming because Kenyans are angry and will turn up to vote peacefully and send them packing,” he said.
The governor said the opposition was ready to provide better leadership for the country and liberate Kenyans.
“Those of us in the opposition are clear that it is not just about removing Ruto from power but providing the best leadership and governance for the country,” Natembeya said.
The county chief accused the national government of sidelining the county in the allocation of resources for key projects for political reasons.
He said his county was not benefiting from projects that are supposed to be undertaken by the national government, unlike other regions.
The governor said residents of the county were taxpayers like other Kenyans and that his opposition politics should not be a reason to deny them their rights.
“We do not have any project, such as roads or in other sectors, being funded by the national government just because of my strong stand on politics in this country. Being in the opposition is our right because it is provided for in our constitution,” Natembeya said.
The governor vowed he was not ready to change his stand or bow to anyone to beg for development resources.
Natembeya said he had, however, ensured county resources were well utilised to benefit residents.
The governor said he would push on with his Tawe Movement politics, which he said was aimed at liberating the region from bad politics and underdevelopment.
He cautioned residents that the same Ford Kenya party leaders who had messed up the country were now planning a comeback, claiming to be political saints.
“Let them know that our people are very alert and will not support selfish and wasteful people to take over leadership,” Natembeya said.
