Kennedy Rapudo has spoken out following his lavish 40th birthday celebration, revealing that he did not spend a single shilling on the festivities.
The businessman shared that his wife, socialite and influencer Amber Ray, took full financial and organisational responsibility for the entire event.
The celebration was marked by a significant personal gift, as Amber Ray presented her husband with Ksh 1 million in cash to commemorate his milestone birthday.
A Surprise to Remember
Rapudo admitted that the scale and detail of the function caught him completely off guard. He explained that he arrived at the venue unaware of the extent of the plans.
"You’ve always known her as ‘bibi ya tajiri’ but I think it’s time you also know me as ‘bwana ya tajiri’. All these, I’ve not paid even one shilling. She’s the one who has done everything,” he said.
The Power Behind the Man
In a speech to those gathered, Rapudo credited his wife for her support over the last few years. He described her as an "amazing force" who has been instrumental in his personal growth.
He expressed his gratitude not just for the party, but for her role as a partner and a mother.
“He who finds a good wife, finds a good thing. So, I’m thanking you not only as my wife, but the mother of Africanah and all our children. Thank you for this function, I never saw it coming, it was such a surprise,” he said.

Amber Ray also took the opportunity to share a heartfelt message regarding their relationship. She acknowledged that being with a high-profile woman like herself brings unique challenges, including public scrutiny and "loud" opinions.
"I’ve seen you get trolled, questioned and even misunderstood, just for choosing to stand by me," she said. She praised Rapudo for his "strength, patience, wisdom, and a heart so pure."
She noted that despite the external pressure, Rapudo remained steadfast. "You chose love. You chose us. You chose peace over proving you are kind," she added.
