Nairobi-based content creator and filmmaker Director Trevor has caused a stir on social media. The director recently announced to his followers that he has completed a full reading of the Bible.

His conclusion has left many of his followers talking. Trevor claims that throughout the entire text, there is no record of men giving money to women.

The revelation was shared via his Instagram account. Trevor seemed genuinely surprised by his findings. He paired his statement with wide-eyed and winking emojis to emphasise his point.

Cows, Gold, and Barter Trade

Many respondents argued that the concept of "money" as we know it today did not exist in the same way during biblical eras. They suggested that wealth was measured in livestock and precious metals.

@zyl_shirley challenged Trevor’s reading directly: "You read the wrong chapters mshefa, infact in the bible women were given gold and 5000 cows."

@2mbili offered a different historical perspective on transactions: "Kitambo Ilikua Barter trade, Soma tena kuna mahali walipewa mahindi, maharagwe for sex."

Love vs. Currency

Other followers shifted the focus from material wealth to emotional support. They suggested that the men of the Bible provided things that modern society sometimes lacks.

@valdiaries254 wrote: "But they gave them genuine love, loyalty and respect something men of this generation can't."

Mixed Reactions Online

The comment section was a mix of humour, support, and confusion. Many users opted for emojis to express their thoughts rather than words.

@director_stainer and @kibaboy1 both posted fire emojis in apparent support. @verldvanco1 reacted with several laughing emojis.

@bekatheehope simply labelled the director as the "Baddest.@elpy_monje shared heart emojis. @albert_kip_ took a completely different turn, asking: "Can we play chess.

While the "giving of money" was often part of cultural marriage contracts or dowries, the Bible does not forbid or omit instances of men providing financially for women.
