Kenya Police FC head coach Nicholas Muyoti says he has turned his focus on the Mozzart Bet cup.

Muyoti noted that they are now out of the SportPesa League race despite being third on the log. The battle for the league title is a two-horse race, pitting rivals Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards with four games to go.

“With the league slipping away, our focus is on the Mozzart Bet Cup. We want to reclaim the title and represent the country in the CAF Confederations Cup,” said Muyoti.

Muyoti spoke at Gusii Stadium after battling to a barren draw against Shabana FC.

Kenya Police will face Shabana on Sunday at Gusii Stadium in the Mozzart Bet round of 16.

“It will be an exciting game because both teams play beautiful football. I hope that the game will be played on a good field, or if they insist on Gusii Stadium, it should be played early in the day before the rains. We want fans to enjoy the game,” noted Muyoti.

Shabana’s assistant coach, Osbourne Monday, says he will work on composure in front of the goal and shooting before they face Kenya Police.

“Kenya Police is a good side with quality players. We expect a good game again against them. Our target is to win and progress to the quarter finals,” said Monday.

Monday expects to have left back James Mazembe back in the team when they face Kenya Police. He was injured during the Kakamega Homeboyz game.

He was replaced by Kevin Musamali in the Saturday game against Kenya Police. On the performance of Musamali, Monday said: “He gave a good account of himself.

He is a player we are developing, and I’m happy with his performance,” said Monday.

Reflecting on the game against Kenya Police, Monday said: “Despite the bad playing field, the boys played according to instructions, and I’m satisfied with the draw.”
