Sebastian Sawe has etched his name in athletics history after becoming the first man to run a sub-two-hour marathon in an official race.

The Kenyan long-distance runner achieved the feat at the London Marathon on April 26, 2026, crossing the finish line in an astonishing time of 1:59:30.

Born on March 16, 1995, Sawe has steadily risen through the ranks to become one of the world’s most formidable road runners.

He began his athletics career in Kenya in 2017 and gained international attention in 2022 as he competed on bigger stages.

Known for his strong finishing speed and consistency, Sawe has built an impressive résumé, including victory at the 2023 Valencia Half Marathon.
