A team of officers responded to the scene and retrieved a white sack from the culvert. Upon opening it, they found the body of a young boy.

The body was later identified by his mother as that of her seven-year-old son.

Authorities confirmed that a missing person report had earlier been filed at Kisaju Police Post on April 21, 2026, and the case was circulated to relevant security agencies.

The body was moved to Kajiado Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

Detectives from DCI Isinya have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death, as officers seek to reconstruct his final movements and establish what happened.

No arrests had been made by Monday, as investigations continued.

In a separate incident, a murder investigation has been launched in Machakos County after a man was found dead outside a bar in Kalama Sub-County.

According to police, the body of Joseph Masaku, a 49-year-old man with a physical disability, was discovered in the early hours of April 25, 2026, at Kola Centre outside a club.

The incident was first reported by a passerby who alerted authorities after spotting the body lying at the entrance of the establishment.

Police officers, including detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kalama and crime scene investigators from Machakos, responded to the scene.

Preliminary observations indicate that the deceased had a deep cut on the forehead near the left eye, a bruise on the lower limb, and a deformity on the left leg.

A wooden crutch, two small sacks containing fresh tomatoes, and a white cap were found beside the body. A mobile phone (Itel) and miraa were also recovered from his pockets.

Inside the bar, officers found two attendants and a nephew of the deceased. Several customers were also present at the time.

Investigators documented blood stains both at the entrance and inside the bar. A knife believed to have been recently cleaned was recovered from under a table, while additional items, including blood-stained clothing, were found in a staff room used as a store and changing area.

The scene was processed and the body moved to Machakos Funeral Home, where a post-mortem examination is expected to determine the exact cause of death.

Police have arrested eight suspects in connection with the incident, as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
