A circulating video featuring Andrew Kibe has gone viral following the official confirmation that Kenyan comedian Njugush and his wife, Celestine Ndinda, have separated.
In the footage, Kibe explains his past remarks regarding the couple's relationship. He stated that he "really wanted them to break up" to facilitate a creative resurgence for Njugush.
A Creative Catalyst
Kibe argued that Njugush’s most impactful work would only return if he experienced emotional hardship. He suggested that being "down in your heart" is the state required for a creator to produce their best content.

Kibe’s perspective was that the marriage was hindering Njugush’s individual talent.
"I really wanted them to break up so that [Njugush] can come back. Njugush had started producing some sketchy content that was not making sense. But you know when you're down and hurt, that's when you produce your best.”
The Warning of ‘Energy Parasitism’
The video highlights a specific warning Kibe claims to have given Njugush previously. He alleged that Ndinda would "attach herself" to the comedian and "suck" his energy and talent.
Furthermore, Kibe predicted a strategic shift in their business dealings. He claimed she would position herself with corporate partners who would eventually side with her over Njugush.
The End of an Era
This commentary has resurfaced in the wake of Timothy Kimani, known as Njugush, announcing the end of his marriage on 22 April 2026. The announcement followed months of public speculation.

A statement from Njugush Creatives clarified that the decision to part ways was actually made last year. The couple chose to navigate the transition privately before making a public statement.
"Last year, we made the decision to part ways after much thought and with mutual respect,” Njugush said in a statement.
Building the Empire
The pair originally met while studying at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC). They transitioned from "college sweethearts" to media moguls, building the Njugush Creatives brand.

Their joint ventures included the highly successful Through Thick and Thin (TTNT) comedy shows, which sold out venues internationally. Their content, often focused on the realities of marriage, gained them millions of social media followers.
The Path Forward
Despite the personal split, the two remain committed to their roles as parents. They have stated that co-parenting is their current priority and that they continue to support each other professionally.
The former couple has requested privacy from the public as they move into this new chapter. They noted that their roles as parents remain the primary focus of their relationship moving forward.
