Posta Rangers forward Eliud Lokawum/HANDOUTPosta Rangers striker Eliud Lokawum has declared that the Mailmen will fight to steer clear of relegation danger when they face Bidco United in a crucial SportPesa Premier League clash at Kasarani Annex on Friday.
Rangers sit 13th on 31 points and are looking to bounce back after a 3-0 defeat to APS Bomet, a result that exposed defensive lapses and inconsistency at a delicate stage of the season.
Bidco United, placed 17th with 22 points, are under even greater pressure as they continue battling for survival after a difficult campaign marked by missed chances and poor results. Lokawum believes the clash could be decisive in Rangers’ push for safety.
“We are not going down the ladder. We know exactly what is at stake, and we must respond like a team that belongs in this league,” said Lokawum.
He stressed that mentality and composure would be key. “This is about character and mentality. We cannot allow pressure to break us at this stage of the season.” Lokawum also challenged his teammates to be clinical in front of the goal.
“In games like this, chances are limited, and we must be ruthless when they come.” He added that unity in the dressing room could help Rangers finish strongly.
“The dressing room is united and focused. We know we can still improve and finish the season strongly.” Posta Rangers head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno has demanded discipline and concentration from his players.
“We understand where we are on the table, and we must respond with responsibility and focus,” said Otieno. “This is not about emotion. It is about discipline in every phase of the game. Matches at this stage are decided by very small details, and concentration must remain high throughout.”
On the other side, Bidco coach Anthony Akhulia knows his team must start turning performances into points. “Every match now feels like a final for us. There is no room to relax,” said Akhulia. “Our biggest problem is converting chances, and we must improve immediately. Concentration for 90 minutes will determine whether we survive or not.” Bidco striker Brian Oddoh insisted belief remains strong despite their struggles.
“We understand the situation we are in, and every point matters now. We must be more clinical because chances are not many in this league,” said Oddoh. “The belief is still there, and we are fighting together as a team. We are still in this fight as long as there are games left.” With both sides desperate for points, Friday’s clash is expected to be tense and tactical, with survival hopes on the line.
