Mike Sonko Exposes Lady He Was Paying Rent for While She Played 10 Other Men

Former Nairobi Governor and ‘Good Deeds’ Ambassador, Mike Sonko, has taken to social media to reveal a personal betrayal involving his philanthropic work.

Sonko, known for his financial interventions for those in need, claimed he had been supporting a woman by paying her monthly rent. However, he discovered the situation was a deceptive scheme.

In a candid video message, Sonko expressed his disappointment after learning the woman was involved with numerous other men. He explained that while he was providing for her housing, she was simultaneously maintaining multiple romantic relationships.

The "DCI" Investigation

Sonko described how he took it upon himself to uncover the truth. He compared his methods to those of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Kenya’s top investigative body.

He told his followers that he had "caught her" and possessed all the necessary evidence to prove the deception.

“I’m telling you there’s a lady who has been playing me. I pay her rent andalso there are other men paying for her rent. I told her I’m the DCI, provided her with full evidence and told her instead of her provoking my anger, you just go,” Sonko narrated.

The former governor noted that the woman was using her beauty to manipulate several benefactors at once. He estimated that she was professing her love to approximately ten different men simultaneously.

A Lesson for Relationships

The video was not merely an exposure of one individual. Sonko used the incident to deliver a broader message to his audience regarding faithfulness in relationships and marriage. He urged women to be honest and "faithful to love" to avoid such public fallout in the future.

He also addressed the men watching the video. Sonko suggested that many people have "side partners" (mipango ya kando) and urged for more honesty in modern dating.

He clarified that he was not trying to attack anyone, but rather wanted to ensure these types of incidents are avoided by others.

"Let this be a lesson to all the women... these kinds of incidents can be avoided in future by being good to one another."

Mike Sonko has long been a polarising yet prominent figure in Kenyan public life. Beyond his political career as the Governor of Nairobi, he is widely recognised for his extensive charitable activities.

Through the "Sonko Rescue Team," he has provided free medical services, wedding transport, and funeral support to thousands of residents.

However, Sonko is also famous for his "leaks." He frequently records phone conversations and captures video evidence to expose what he perceives as corruption or social injustice.
