Victor Kanyari has officially started his journey towards the 2027 General Elections. The preacher, widely known as Prophet Kanyari, recently declared his interest in the Kasarani Member of Parliament seat.
Since his announcement, he has wasted no time in reaching out to the residents of the constituency.
His campaign strategy focuses on direct interaction and community presence. Kanyari has been seen visiting various wards to build a personal connection with voters. This hands-on approach is designed to show that he understands the local challenges.

No Shortcuts to the Top
Kanyari believes that leadership requires being physically present among the people. In a recent message to his followers, he emphasised that there are no easy ways to gain trust.
He stated that a true leader must be willing to "get on the ground" to hear people’s problems directly.

"No shortcuts to leadership — lazima uvae viatu, uingie ground, usalimie watu na usikie shida zao live!” Kanyari said while interacting with people in Kasarani.
Engaging Local Businesses
The preacher has focused heavily on the economic hubs of the area. In the videos circulating online, he spent time in Mwiki, where he met with both men and women running local businesses.
During these meetings, he took the time to listen to the specific hurdles faced by small-scale traders. He claims that it is now "time to change Kasarani".
Charity and Community Support
Beyond political dialogue, Kanyari is using acts of service to win hearts. He has been spotted distributing practical items to residents. For instance, he donated umbrellas to help people cope with the weather.
These donations are often framed as "blessings" to the community. This tactic combines his role as a religious leader with his new ambitions as a politician.

Kasarani is one of the most populous and competitive constituencies in Nairobi. The seat is currently held by Ronald Karauri, who won as an independent candidate in 2022.
Kanyari officially announced his bid for the Kasarani Member of Parliament seat in the 2027 general elections during a church service on April 12, 2026.
While addressing his congregation at the Salvation Healing Ministry, Kanyari declared his intention to transition from the pulpit to politics, stating he would seek the parliamentary seat to serve the community.
Kanyari initially had plans to vie for the Njiru Ward MCA seat before shifting his focus to the higher parliamentary position.
