Madowo shared the philosophy that guided his time there. He recalled a common phrase used by his mentors.

"We used to be told that many are called but few are chosen."

Ultimately, Madowo decided that the priesthood was not his calling. "I guess I was not chosenandthat’s why I do this now," he told viewers with a smile.

In a light-hearted moment, Madowo joked about his transition into the media. He described his current high-profile role at CNN as his secondary choice.

"My backup option was this," he said, referring to his broadcasting career. He added that the move has worked out well so far, though he teased that he might reconsider if the Vatican ever reached out.

"But if the pope calls me, I’ll come back," he joked.

The correspondent later took to social media to share his "confession" with a wider audience. He posted a message stating he had wanted to be a priest but failed. He also asked his followers if it was "too late" or if he could still go back to his original path.

“Confession: I wanted to become a Catholic priest but failed. I'm explaining what happened for the first time. Is it too late or can I still go back?he teased.
