Tragedy struck a team in Kamae area, Kasarani, Nairobi, when a 25-year-old electrician was electrocuted while he and his colleagues were connecting internet cables to a house.

Police said Brian Kipngetich had been contracted to supply internet to a house in the area when he accidentally touched a live wire.

His colleagues told police they heard him scream and, on rushing to the scene, found him lying unresponsive with burns.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures, police said.

Meanwhile, at least two people were shot and killed in separate banditry incidents in Isiolo and Meru counties.

The first incident occurred on April 16 in Kambi Samaki area, Garbatula, Isiolo County. Police said Jarso Guyo, 43, was shot and killed as he and other herders went to drive back sheep that had strayed from a field.

The group was riding motorcycles when they were attacked by two gunmen.

Another rider was also shot and killed in the attack. Police said they are pursuing the gang involved in the incident.

In Ithritii Hills, Mutuati, Meru County, a man was found dead following a banditry incident that sparked a shootout, police said.

The body of John Loyian was found in a thicket after the clash between security officers and attackers who were pursuing stolen livestock.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
